Delilah Green vouched never to reappear in sleepy Bright Falls when she skipped town. There was nothing for her there anyhow—apart from her unloving step family and memories she would rather not revisit. More than that, her life in New York was just to her liking—her photography business was getting some momentum, her bed was never empty—that she could not complain of. But when her estranged sister, Astrid, guilts her into photographing her wedding, she finds herself in the middle of her childhood home once more. Worse than that, she must work side by side with reformed mean girl, Claire Sutherland. But Claire is not at all how she remembered. Rearing her eleven-year-old daughter and managing a local bookstore on her own, Claire has done some major growing up. Now, it’s Delilah’s turn for childish retaliation. But when the two witness some troubling incompatibilities between the lovebirds, they must put their history aside to break up the engagement.
